The Delhi High Court has extended interim protection from arrest for suspended trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar until August 29. This extension comes as Khedkar faces serious allegations related to falsifying and misrepresenting facts in her application to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The court's decision allows Khedkar to remain free while her anticipatory bail plea is under consideration.

Former IAS officer Puja Khedkar is embroiled in a legal battle after being accused of faking her identity to gain extra attempts in the civil services examination. Her plea for anticipatory bail has been denied by a district court in Delhi, and the case has now been scheduled for hearing on August 12 by the Delhi High Court.

Her plea is scheduled to be heard by Justice Subramonium Prasad on Friday. 

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is taking significant steps to modernise its examination system by incorporating advanced digital biometric technologies. This move comes in response to recent controversies, including an incident involving trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar, who allegedly impersonated another candidate to gain multiple attempts in the Civil Services Examination (CSE).

Puja Khedkar, a trainee IAS officer from Maharashtra, has failed to report to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) despite the deadline having passed. 

Puja Khedkar’s parents Manorama and Dilip Khedkar remain untraceable days after police registered an FIR against them over a video purportedly showing Manorama threatening some individuals with a gun following a land dispute in Mulshi tehsil of Pune district.

Khedkar is being investigated for her assertions regarding her disability and OBC certificates during her IAS clearance, as well as her behaviour while serving in the Pune collector's office.

In a significant move, the Maharashtra government has decided to relieve Dr. Puja Khedkar, an IAS Probationary Officer and Assistant Collector of Washim, from her field training. She has been ordered to report back to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie. This decision comes in response to various complaints about her conduct and alleged discrepancies regarding her official documents.

Khedkar, who faced allegations of using unlawful means to clear her civil services exam, including misuse of disability and OBC quotas, transferred from Pune following administrative issues.
