The militants attacked the Bargai police station in the militancy affected southern Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province with heavy weaponry on Sunday.

It is one of the largest single cash seizures in the run-up to 2024 polls at inter-state check-post in NTR district.

The suspect, Satinder Pal, was apprehended on Monday night and subsequently transported to Shimla under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (Shimla) Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi.

"I am very happy with this historic step by the Delhi Police. Today, we inaugurated two All-Women Police Posts (AWPPs)," Saxena said and added that more such posts are needed in Delhi. 

The situation is currently under control, with both the local police force and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) deployed throughout the city, the SSP then added. 

“We have already started collecting evidence. We are scanning through messages exchanged between the victim and Kumar, the voice notes, and call detail records. We would also be approaching their mutual friends to record statements,” he said.

The Meerut field unit of UP's Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) cSatendra Siwal, who served as the IBSA (India Based Security Assistant) at the Indian Embassy in Moscow since 2021, for questioning, the statement revealed.

The terrorists include Muhammad Ejaz, a key commander of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who took terrorism training in Afghanistan.

Suchana Seth, 39, killed her son and tried to flee with the body. Police have taken her in transit remand to get to the root cause of the crime.
