On Saturday night, an alarming incident occurred at the Shingar police station in Ludhiana, Punjab, where around 100 people allegedly stormed the premises. This mob reportedly vandalised the station and physically assaulted an assistant sub-inspector, resulting in injuries to another policeman as well. The incident is said to have stemmed from a heated argument between a shopkeeper and the police over speeding at a checkpoint.
