The bench directed its criticism towards Asokan, the president of the IMA, emphasizing the importance of self-restraint and responsible behavior, especially from a prominent figure in the medical community. "As IMA President, you should have had self-restraint. That's the point. We didn't see that in your interviews," remarked the bench.

The Court, hearing a plea by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) accusing Patanjali of false claims and attacks on allopathic medicine, stressed the shared responsibility of advertisers and brand ambassadors.

The firm did not provide the information sought from it regarding the products and the explanation offered by it in its defence was not satisfactory, the Uttarakhand Drug licensing authority said in its order.
