India had won 19 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics and PCI president Devendra Jhajharia hoped the country's athletes would produce another good show this time.

In Tokyo Olympics, the group of 54 athletes brought 19 medals, with five golds, eight silver, six bronze and was called India’s best rendition at Paralympics in 2021. In Hangzhou Asian para games, 2023, India clinched 11 medals.
