The assets comprised a 7.27 per cent non-operated interest in the Azeri Chirag Gunashli oil fields in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea, 8.71 per cent interest in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline and 50 per cent in the Karabakh field.

Discussing India's sustainability targets, Minister Puri celebrated the remarkable journey of ethanol blending, with targets brought forward due to exceptional progress. He underscored government efforts to create an enabling ecosystem for emerging technologies such as battery energy storage systems and e-mobility, aligning with India's net-zero target of 2070.

"Achieving 'atma nirbharta' (self-reliance) in energy requirements has been a key focus area of the prime minister. In yet another step in this direction, India Energy Week 2024 will be held from February 6 to 9 in Goa," the PMO said.

The BSE Sensex surged by 1,241 points to close at 71,941.57, while the NSE Nifty Index soared 385 points to reach 21,737.60, marking a 1.8 percent increase in both indices.
