Popular hill stations like Ooty and Matheran faced scorching summer heat, with temperatures reaching 29.4°C and 37°C, respectively.

The unrelenting heat peaked at 2.30 pm, sending residents scrambling for shade and hydration.

Many candidates are changing their calendars and opting for evening campaigns and small meetings. Even the public is hesitant to step out in the scorching sun.

In response to the scorching temperatures, schools have been instructed to operate from 6:30 am to 10:30 am from April 22 to 24.
