The eight constituencies of Uttar Pradesh that went to the polls today in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections recorded a voter turnout of 52.74%.

Haji Karam Din approached the polling booth in Reasi district of Jammu constituency with a walking stick in hand, accompanied by a family member who assisted him with the pre-voting process.

A total of 10.39% voter turn was recorded on Jammu Lok Sabha Constituency till 9 am. Polling began at 7 a.m. at all 2,416 polling locations in the constituency, and it is going smoothly, said the officials.

Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and Mathura constituencies are voting today.

Nine Constituencies in the northern part of the nation are going to polls in Phase 2, one-Jammu from J&K, and the remaining eight from Uttar Pradesh.

During his addresses, Modi portrayed himself as the "chowkidar" (watchman) and a "wall" against alleged Congress plans to "rob" people through wealth redistribution or inheritance tax if the INDIA bloc came to power.

Polling for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will be held in the last phase on June 1.  

National Conference leader Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi filed candidature papers for the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency on April 25, ahead of the fourth round of elections next month.

Penned and sung by AAP MLA Dilip Pandey, the party's election song was launched here by party leaders at an event at the AAP headquarters. 

The constituency is divided into 18 Assembly segments in four districts, including Reasi, Samba, Jammu, and Rajouri.

Now Amritpal is believed to be considering contesting as an independent candidate, provided he is not opposed by any other Akali party, including the Shiromani Akali Dal-Badal headed by Sukhbir Singh Badal.
