Expanding the NCC, now an elective course under the NEP 2020, resonates with youth aspirations to become future leaders. This plan includes establishing four new Group Headquarters and two NCC units, alongside proposing ex-servicemen employment as instructors to leverage their expertise.

Women were earlier confined to cultural programmes but his government has opened up various sectors for them, including all three services, where their entry was earlier restricted, and they are making a mark everywhere, he said.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said the event will include a cultural programme on the theme ‘Amrit Kaal Ki NCC’ showcasing contribution and empowerment of the young generation.

Singh was addressing the NCC cadets "Creativity, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and sensitivity are the qualities which will make a person relevant and employable in the present age of machines and artificial intelligence," he said.

Delhi University students participating in the Republic Day parade and representing varsity at national or international sports events will be given a "special chance" to sit for missed exams, an official said on Thursday. The final-year students who are part of the Delhi contingent of NCC will march at the Kartavya path on January 26. They will be given this chance to ensure that their academic year is not wasted and they get their degrees on time, OSD examination Ajay Arora said.

About 350 NCC cadets have joined the Indian Navy as Agniveers over the last year, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar said on Saturday.
