Former Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam, along with his wife and daughter, made a significant move on Friday by joining Shiv Sena in Mumbai, marking a 'ghar wapasi' after two decades. The transition took place in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Former Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam's recent expulsion from the party has ignited a flurry of controversy and introspection within the political circles. Following his expulsion, Nirupam launched scathing criticism against the Congress party, alleging that it is rife with internal discord and fragmentation.

"He has taken the decision to quit the Congress and wants to contest from a seat in Mumbai, which is likely to be offered to him by the Shinde Sena," the source disclosed.
