Sworn in as minister of state in the NDA government on Sunday, has denied saying he does not want a ministerial berth and is interested only in completing his films and serving the people of Thrissur.

Amit Shah, Mansukh Mandaviya, and S Jaishankar were sworn in as cabinet ministers for the second consecutive time on Sunday. The new entrants from Gujarat include state BJP chief and Navsari MP CR Paatil, party president and Rajya Sabha member JP Nadda, and Bhavnagar MP Nimuben Bambhaniya.

On Sunday, he again became the Union cabinet minister, this time as a Lok Sabha member.

 G. Kishan Reddy, the newly re-elected BJP Telangana president, took his oath as a Union minister on Sunday, marking his second term in office.  At 64, Reddy retained his Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency by defeating his nearest rival, Congress candidate Danam Nagender, with a margin of over 49,000 votes.

The son of JD(S) patriarch and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda has now managed to secure a cabinet berth by allying with the BJP, at a time when his party was fighting a "battle for survival."

When he took oath as the prime minister for the first time in 2014, Modi had worn a cream linen kurta-pyjama with a beige golden jacket. For his 2019 swearing-in ceremony, the prime minister had chosen a similar dress paired with a beige jacket.

BJP leaders Manohar Lal Khattar, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Ravneet Singh Bittu are likely to be among the new faces in the Union Council of Ministers to be sworn on Sunday evening.
