A delegation of seven legislators from the BJP and a couple of nominated legislators and independents have sought the intervention of the BJP high command.

Odisha Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of all 147 elected MLA candidates in Odisha.

MLAs Sombir Sangwan (Dadri), Randhir Singh Gollen (Pundri), and Dharampal Gonder (Nilokheri) on Tuesday withdrew support to the BJP government and announced that they would back the Congress, reducing the Saini government to a minority in the state assembly. 

Congress legislators and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh have been vocal against the nine MLAs and have accused the BJP of pressurising the legislators. 

As per the sources, at least 6 to 7 MLAs are expected to be inducted.

Though the move involves the risk of inviting rebellion from those who are denied party tickets, Jagan, seeking a second term in office, is keen to avoid what happened in the neighbouring state.

"Hum na honge koi hum sa hoga, toh hamare Nayab Saini jaisa hoga (If I am not there, someone like me will be. They will be like our Nayab Saini)," Khattar said.

K L Thakur, Independent MLA from Nalagarh, said, "It is unfortunate that the chief minister has stooped to such a level and this kind of politics has never been seen in Himachal Pradesh." 

Six Congress MLAs in Himachal Pradesh triggered the crisis this week when they voted for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Harsh Mahajan in the Rajya Sabha election for the lone seat from the state. 

He then added that Congress MLAs and senior leaders were suffocated and had expressed their pain inside the House as well as on public platforms. Even the Congress' central observers have just given assurance and not resolved the issue, he said.  

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has acknowledged concerns, revealing that around six MLAs from his party have become unresponsive.

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar referred to the death of VIPs in road accidents and said it was due to inexperienced drivers.
