EVMs were damaged on May 13 in seven polling stations in Macherla constituency, including in polling station number 202 where local MLA P Ramakrishna Reddy allegedly damaged an EVM.

Chaudhary, who is the son of late Congress MP Santokh Chaudhary, had earlier tendered his resignation as chief whip of the party in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. 

Vijayadharani hailed the Centre for its various good schemes and lamented that some of those are not being implemented in Tamil Nadu, where the DMK-Congress alliance is in power.
