Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai provided these figures in response to a query from MP Sushmita Dev in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

The government has launched a new portal to combat drug abuse among children. This initiative is aimed at creating a robust monitoring system to prevent the sale of contraband around schools and to raise awareness among students and teachers.

"Cooperative societies like the NCCF (National Cooperative Consumers Federation) and NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India) will enter into a contract with those farmers who grow 'tur dal', 'urad dal', 'masoor dal' or maize for buying their crop at MSP for next five years," said Goyal.
