Microsoft has revealed that Iran is ramping up its online activities to influence the US presidential election, including a phishing attack targeting a presidential campaign.

The addition of OpenAI signals a shift, acknowledging that despite their close partnership, the two companies are increasingly encroaching on each other’s territory.

The department claimed that these workers, who were predominantly women and people with disabilities, were denied raises, promotions, and stock awards. Additionally, they received lower performance-review scores, which negatively impacted their pay, career advancement opportunities, and overall career trajectory.

Privacy rights organisation noyb filed two complaints on Tuesday with Austria’s data protection authority, accusing tech giant Microsoft of violating children's data protection rights with its ‘365 Education’ services.

The Registrar of Companies (RoC) for Delhi and Haryana, the MCA's enforcement arm, issued a 63-page order detailing the violations. According to the RoC, LinkedIn India and its officers failed to comply with SBO disclosure requirements, resulting in penalties totaling Rs 27,10,800.

During the earnings call, Satya Nadella, Microsoft's Chairman and CEO, said that their AI innovation is evolving through the strategic collaboration with OpenAI, with over 65 percent of Fortune 500 companies now leveraging the Azure OpenAI service.

The agreement, unveiled at the Munich Security Conference on Friday, represents a significant step in addressing the growing threat posed by AI-driven disinformation campaigns. Among the key commitments outlined in the accord are collaborative efforts to develop technology capable of detecting and countering harmful AI content, particularly deepfakes targeting political candidates.

“The AI engineering community in India is second only to the US, definately today this is the highest growth market. You can see the buoyancy of it. The government and all of you have high ambitions of what’s going to happen by 2025 and what percentage of that growth is going to be driven by AI”, the CEO said

Microsoft's shares saw a 1% rise in early Thursday trading, pushing its market value to $2.87 trillion, just edging ahead of Apple, whose shares experienced a nearly 1% decline. Throughout the morning trading session in New York, the top position exchanged hands multiple times.
