Addressing a public meeting in Muzaffarnagar to seek votes for BJP candidate Sanjeev Baliyan ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said it was the Narendra Modi government that honoured people's sentiment and built the temple.

On March 16, the prime minister will address a public meeting at Nagarkurnool. Modi would attend a rally at Jagtial in the state on March 18, the press release added.

"We are organising a rally at Brigade Parade Grounds after a long time. It is going to be a historic event. Our party supremo Mamata Banerjee will give a message which we will take to every nook and corner of West Bengal and ensure the defeat of the BJP in all the 42 Lok Sabha seats of the state." 

This will be the first visit of the Prime Minister to Jharkhand this year, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

The decision to stage the mega rally comes amid ongoing protests in Sandeshkhali by rural women alleging atrocities by local TMC leaders affiliated with absconding party strongman Sheikh Shahjahan. This will be addressed by TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee and party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
