The recent parliamentary elections in the Maldives have delivered a resounding victory for the People's National Congress (PNC), led by President Mohamed Muizzu.

In response to the expression of gratitude from Maldivian minister Moosa Zameer towards India for renewing the quota to import essential commodities for the fiscal years 2024-2025, Union Minister S Jaishankar reiterated India's steadfast commitment to its policies of 'neighbourhood first' and SAGAR.

Hassan Zakariyya, the secretary general of the Maldivian election body, confirmed that a sufficient number of voters had re-registered for ballot boxes in these three foreign countries.
