Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has stressed the need for the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) to nominate a chief ministerial candidate for the Maharashtra assembly elections, following party president Uddhav Thackeray's meetings with top Congress leaders.

Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sanjay Raut on Monday said the “minuscule” representation to the two parties in the Modi cabinet has proved that the BJP has shown them their place.

On Monday, leaders of the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi alleged substantial cash transfers purportedly aimed at purchasing votes in the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, anti-corruption advocate Anna Hazare expressed disapproval, in contrast to the MahaYuti's denial of the allegations, claiming it's a tactic to divert attention from the potential defeat of the opposition.
