The Supreme Court has intervened in the legal battle surrounding the 'UP Board of Madarsa Education Act 2004', issuing a stay order against the Allahabad High Court's judgement that struck down the Act as unconstitutional.

Residents of Banbhoolpura, despite the curfew, are permitted limited access to procure essential supplies. Concurrently, train operations have resumed up to Kathgodam, signaling a gradual return to normalcy in the region.

Most of the people hospitalised after the violence at Malik ka Bagicha in the city's Banbhoolpura area were police personnel. The remaining were municipal workers involved in the demolition of the local madrasa and a mosque in its complex, they said.
