The Supreme Court is set to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on July 22, which seeks to address the longstanding issue of vacant Deputy Speaker posts in the Lok Sabha and various State Legislative Assemblies. This hearing will focus on urging the Centre and several states to hold elections for these crucial parliamentary positions.

The Lok Sabha witnessed a heated session as opposition members, led by Rahul Gandhi, demanded a thorough discussion on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) controversy. The uproar stemmed from allegations of a paper leak and irregularities surrounding the NEET and UGC-NET examinations.

Apart from the BJP's Om Birla, saffron clan's Andhra Pradesh party chief D Purandeshwari is also in the fray.
