Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to conduct the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in seven phases, suggesting that it indicates Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intention to tour extensively across the country.

Additionally, Jyotsna Mahant, Tamradhwaj Sahu, and Shashi Tharoor have been nominated for the Korba, Mahasamund, and Thiruvananthapuram constituencies, respectively.

A team of 13 members arrived in the state on Thursday for a three-day visit.  

The ECI said in a statement, “The IBA and the Department of Posts signed a MoU to amplify it’s voter outreach and awareness efforts ahead of the forthcoming general elections, banks and post offices will display voter education messages on their websites, social media and through posters, hoardings etc. at their offices and major locations”

Despite the stay, the counsel for the Lok Sabha panel voiced their opposition, emphasizing that this was merely the first meeting of the committee and not an accusation against the officials.
