Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha highlighted significant peace and development strides in Jammu and Kashmir, citing economic growth, record voter turnout, and improved public services. Tourism surged with 2.11 crore visitors in 2023, and the industrial sector received investment proposals worth Rs.1,26,582 crore.

“Today, once again, the terrorist country of Pakistan is making efforts to disturb peace in the Jammu division. It wants to stop its progress," Manoj Sinha said at the Raj Bhawan in Jammu.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police are gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections by mobilizing their personnel starting April 19. Additional Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) will be deployed in the Kashmir valley and the sensitive Poonch and Rajouri districts of the Jammu region to bolster security measures and reinforce the Anti-Militancy Grid, aiming to prevent any disruptions by militants during the electoral process.

At the event, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, "The financial assistance extended to displaced families will help them realise their dreams and ignite entrepreneurial culture in the community."

While noting that Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir will coincide with the national schedule, Sinha revealed that the Election Commission will visit the Union Territory on March 12.

The Lieutenant Governor also launched the 'Hello J&K' information and facilitation portal, as well as digital photography, painting, and singing competitions for youth on the theme "Know Jammu Kashmir.”
