The State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC), headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, at its meeting here, gave the nod to new projects worth Rs 8,220.05 crore, and additional investment ones worth Rs 9,615.85 crore, they said.

Calling West Bengal the "eastern gate" of India, the real executive said that these projects will provide momentum to the state's economic growth and create job opportunities. 

For the first time in the country, an indigenously developed hydrogen fuel cell ferry built by Cochin Shipyard Limited will be launched as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat. This zero-emission, zero-noise vessel is a revolutionary step towards India becoming a hydrogen fuel vessel manufacturer, Sarbananda said.

Besides this, from Jammu, the prime minister also laid founding stones for other projects worthy of Rs 13, 500 crore across India. 

The projects relate to sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, food processing, housing and real estate, hospitality and entertainment, and education.
