The militants attacked the Bargai police station in the militancy affected southern Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province with heavy weaponry on Sunday.

On Wednesday, a former Senator and three others were assassinated in a car bomb blast triggered through a remote-control device in restive northwest Pakistan, police said.

According to a statement issued by the media wing of the Pakistan Army, the fighting took place on Sunday and Monday as the security forces increased pressure on the rebels affiliated with the TTP, which has been allegedly operating out of Afghanistan.

Officials from several administrative offices either denied knowledge of the Hindu temple's existence or maintained that the building was proceeding following the guidelines. However, media reports said something different.

The assault occurred while Chinese engineers were en route from Islamabad to their camp in Dasu, situated in the Upper Kohistan district, when a suicide bomber targeted their vehicle in the Bisham area of the Shangla district.
