Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to conduct the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in seven phases, suggesting that it indicates Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intention to tour extensively across the country.

Addressing during Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's "Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra" in the Ambikapur district of Chhattisgarh, the Congress chief targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the people should not believe Modi's "guarantees". 

In his letter, Kharge expressed fear that some miscreants may try to show the state administration in bad light or disrupt the yatra, as had happened in some neighbouring states.

Ramesh said Mamata's presence would immensely strengthen the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

The clash began after the Maldives Deputy Minister, along with fellow cabinet members and government officials, made derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Lakshadweep.
