State farmers are suffering from a loss of about Rs 1,000 crore due to climate change-induced heat waves and subsequent extreme rainfall.

CM Pinarayi Vijayan, who moved the resolution, wanted the union government to change the southern state’s name from “Kerala” to “Keralam” in all languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of the country.
