Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a seven-day extension of his interim bail on medical grounds in connection with the alleged liquor policy case, as announced by the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday.

“ This is an extraordinary situation. It is not like he is a habitual offender. Elections happen once in five years. It’s not harvesting a crop that will happen every four to six months. We need to consider on priority whether he should be released in the interim”, the bench said.

Incarcerated Delhi chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal could finally walk out of jail after the Supreme Court today informed the Enforcement Directorate that they could think about granting interim bail to him due to the Lok Sabha elections.
