Local sources reported that the landslide occurred at approximately 3 am on Friday, prompting vehicles travelling to Mysuru and Mangaluru to start using the route through Puttur town.

Besides eight dead bodies found so far, a truck from Kerala was also located in Gangavalli river on Wednesday.
