The four-point agenda of the Ladakh bodies includes establishment of a Public Service Commission for Ladakh, early recruitment processes, and separate Lok Sabha seats for Leh and Kargil districts. 

The Leh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) will convene a crucial joint meeting in Leh on August 11 to finalise the steps they will take to demand Sixth Schedule status and Statehood for Ladakh.

The Leh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) have called on the Government of India to resume discussions with local leaders from Leh and Kargil about Ladakh’s demands.

Thousands of individuals participated in a massive rally in Kargil on Wednesday, advocating for statehood and including Ladakh in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.

These protests have come amid ongoing discussions at a high-level committee chaired by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, engaging with representatives from both Leh and Kargil.
