The Indian Army recently inaugurated a new selfie point at Hombotingla Pass in Ladakh, paying tribute to the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. This joint initiative by the Indian Army and the Tourism Department of Kargil aims to honour the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers who fought in the Kargil War.

Thousands of individuals participated in a massive rally in Kargil on Wednesday, advocating for statehood and including Ladakh in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.

These protests have come amid ongoing discussions at a high-level committee chaired by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, engaging with representatives from both Leh and Kargil.
