Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minister Atishi recently visited the Kanwar Yatra camps in Delhi to inspect the preparations for the annual pilgrimage. Speaking to ANI, she highlighted that the largest camps have been set up at Kashmiri Gate, accommodating up to 2,000 Kanwariyas.

The Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments had issued orders, asking eateries on the kanwar yatra route to display names of owners.

As the Kanwar Yatra 2024 approaches, preparations in Uttarakhand are in full swing to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the festival. Scheduled to start on Monday, the event sees the deployment of over 5,500 police personnel to manage the large influx of devotees.

Opposition parties and certain members of the ruling alliance have criticised the order issued by the Muzaffarnagar police earlier this week, stating that it discriminates against Muslim traders.
