Speaking to his supporters in Jilinggoda, Seraikela district, Soren pointed out his commitment to addressing the concerns of tribals, natives, Dalits, and the underprivileged in Jharkhand.

State Congress Chief Keshav Mahto Kamlesh responded to the speculation by asserting that the coalition had always shown respect to Soren. 

His comment hinting that he may quit the JMM came shortly after he reached Delhi amid speculation about a potential switch to the BJP.

Notably, the development took place after Hemant Soren was granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court on June 28. Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged land scam case on January 31.

Soren sounded the election bugle from JMM’s stronghold in Santhal Pargana on Sunday, declaring a "rebellion to drive out feudal forces from across the country."

Soren, who was granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court on Friday, immediately visited his father and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren at his residence.

Sita Soren, the sister-in-law of jailed former chief minister Hemant Soren, claimed that the voting process was being intentionally delayed, an allegation that was denied by CEO K Ravi Kumar. .

The seat in Giridih district fell vacant following the resignation of JMM MLA Sarfaraz Ahmad.

JMM has refused to take responsibility of any such remark.

Lokpal had ordered the CBI to investigate the disproportionate assets case against Soren and their family.
