Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has stated that there is no endorsement of the proposal to include Manusmriti in the syllabus of Delhi University’s law course. Pradhan clarified that some law faculty members had proposed changes in the jurisprudence chapter, but these were not approved by the Academic Council.

The three new centres will be established under the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies, it said.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is contemplating a return to conducting its own entrance examinations for PhD admissions following the cancellation of the UGC NET exam due to concerns over its integrity. Initially slated to rely on UGC NET scores for PhD admissions this academic session, JNU is now reconsidering its approach.

Umar Khalid, the former student leader of JNU, finds himself entangled in a legal battle with his bail plea being heard in court. After the CAA rules were notified on Monday, protests erupted on the Jamia Millia Islamia campus, leading to a heavy police deployment at the university.

Students can file their nominations from March 14 and the final list of candidates will be displayed on March 16, an official notice stated.
