External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar has inaugurated the first overseas Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Mauritius during his two-day visit to the island nation. The launch underscores the robust cooperation between India and Mauritius, particularly in the crucial field of healthcare, as highlighted by the Ministry of External Affairs.

"This initiative is poised to provide substantial support to Jan Aushadi Kendra operators, facilitating both the establishment of new ventures and the expansion of existing ones," Mandaviya stated, underlining the scheme's potential to invigorate healthcare accessibility across the nation.

"In the last six months, 4,470 applications from PACS were received. Out of these, in-principle approval has been given to 2,373 PACS. Around 241 of them have started operating Jan Aushadi Kendras," Shah said.
