An intruder from across the border was shot dead at the international border even as another person suspected to be an over ground worker for the Hizbul Mujahideen was apprehended in Poonch

The US government has advised its citizens against travelling to certain regions of India, including Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, areas near the India-Pakistan border, and parts of central and eastern India where Naxalites are active.

The OGWs assist terrorists infiltrating from Pakistan by providing them with food, shelter, and guidance. These workers direct terrorists to various locations where terror incidents occur in the Jammu division.

The peaceful region of Jammu has recently experienced a significant surge in terrorist activity, with districts such as Akhnoor, Doda, Kathua, Reasi, Rajouri, and Udhampur bearing the brunt of escalating violence throughout 2024. 

Suspected terrorists fired at an Army post in the village of Gunda, located in the Rajouri district. The attack happened around 4 am Monday morning and was met with retaliation from security forces.

Reports suggest that weapons left behind by the US in Afghanistan have made their way into J&K through Pakistan.
