Talking to media persons, he said the Congress government had proved to be a failure on all fronts in 18 months of rule in Himachal Pradesh and it was only worried to ‘save the chair’ with no concerns for development. 

"If elections are held in all the nine assembly seats along with the Lok Sabha polls on June 1 and the BJP wins, the Congress party would come in a minority," Thakur said.

Ranjit Singh of the BJP, who lost to Rajendra Rana of the Congress in the 2022 assembly polls by a margin of 399 votes, has announced to contest as an Independent. 

Anger among leaders during allocation of tickets is normal in elections and the BJP is trying to resolve the matter through talks, said former chief minister and leader of the opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Sukhu, who has been reiterating for the past few days that the government is stable and would complete its five-year-term, on Monday refused to comment on his regime's stability.

The BJP legislators were seen raising anti-government slogans, carrying the placards that read "pehla budget jhoot ke guarantee, doosra budget loot ke guarantee" during their protest. 

Nothing has been done on 95 per cent of the schemes announced in the last budget and yet new schemes have been announced, Thakur said in a video as he was in New Delhi and not present in the Vidhan Sabha on Saturday.
