Calling on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to stop allegedly misleading people with false financial statistics and white papers, the opposition leader urged him to concentrate on fulfilling the super six scheme promises pledged during the polls.

“Only one person can be compared to what happened in Andhra, and it is Pablo Escobar,” he said in the assembly, referring to the alleged drug menace in the state.

On Wednesday, Jagan, whose party is now reduced to four MPs in the Parliament and 11 MLAs in the Assembly, hosted several Opposition leaders on his protest stage, including Akhilesh and leaders of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav), Trinamool Congress and Tamil Nadu Dalit outfit VCK.

The YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to stage a dharna in Delhi on July 24 to protest against the sustained attacks on his party workers allegedly by the TDP supporters.

“The Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Assembly notified under Article 208 of the Constitution do not prescribe mandatory 10 per cent seats for a leader of a party to be recognised as the Leader of Opposition,” Jagan said in a letter to the Andhra assembly speaker.

"Chandrababu took vendetta politics to the next level. Like a dictator, he got YSRCP's central office demolished with excavators and bulldozers, which was almost complete," said Reddy in a post on 'X'.  

The NDA routed YSRCP, winning a brute majority of 164 Assembly and 21 Lok Sabha seats. Whereas, the YSRCP won just four Lok Sabha seats.

The Supreme Court on Monday declined to entertain the YSR Congress party’s plea challenging the relaxation of postal ballot norms by the Election Commission in Andhra Pradesh.
