Driven by the demand for software roles, the growth is fueled by emerging technologies like AI and blockchain, as well as the thriving startup ecosystem and Global Capability Centers (GCCs).

The protest follows a two-week campaign by KITU (Karnataka State IT/ITeS Employees Union), featuring gate gatherings at IT parks and street protests.
