The court martial, initiated over Hameed's alleged involvement in the Top City housing scheme scandal, is a first in the nation's history where such legal action has been taken against a former intelligence chief.

The man is accused of sharing sensitive, confidential information about Indian Army deployments, and transmitting documents and photos from his mobile phone, they said. 

The Meerut field unit of UP's Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) cSatendra Siwal, who served as the IBSA (India Based Security Assistant) at the Indian Embassy in Moscow since 2021, for questioning, the statement revealed.
