Pezeshkian has pledged to promote a pragmatic foreign policy, ease tensions over stalled negotiations with major powers to revive the 2015 nuclear pact and improve prospects for social liberalization and political pluralism. 

Pezeshkian has secured over 5.9 million votes, while Jalili has garnered more than 5.5 million. The voter turnout was around 40%, one of the lowest since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

After casting his vote Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged the public to actively participate in this critical electoral process.
