Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Nagaland joined the global commemoration, with leaders and officials actively participating in various yoga sessions and events.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised Indian soldiers for embodying the essence of Yoga and Yogi during a session held in Mathura. The event saw Singh participating in yoga exercises alongside troops from Mathura Cantonment, joined by Army Chief Manoj Pande and other senior officers.

Health Minister Veena George, in her statement, noted that yoga was best for a healthy body and mind as it can ward off diseases and strengthen the immune system.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah performed Yoga in Ahmedabad on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, stating that people around the world have embraced Yoga as an integral part of daily life. The event took place at Gotila Garden, where Shah highlighted the significant role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in popularising Yoga globally, emphasising its reflection of the essence of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.

From the northern frontier to Eastern Ladakh, Army personnel participated enthusiastically in yoga sessions on International Yoga day. Also not to be left behind , ITBP personnel participated in their own yoga sessions from Ladakh in the north to Sikkim in the east.

The Yoga Day events were also organised at the Eastern Command of the Indian Army at Fort William and in many military stations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi accentuated the transformative global impact of yoga at the 10th International Yoga Day event held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar on Friday.

President Murmu along with other officials of the President's Secretariat, also performed yoga at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here.

"The world is looking at yoga as a powerful agent of global good. Yoga helps us live in the present moment without the baggage of the past," the prime minister said.

The main yoga event at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) was set to start at 6:30 am. However, moderate to heavy rainfall across the Valley posed significant challenges for holding the open-air yoga sessions, officials reported.

Addressing a media gathering in Srinagar, he said his government is committed to the development of Jammu and Kashmir.

Apart from the International Day of Yoga event on June 21, the PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects valued at over ₹1,500 crore. Additionally, he plans to launch the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project, which is estimated to cost ₹1,800 crore.
