India sets its sights on a significant expansion in its share of the global space economy, with Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh outlining ambitious targets and highlighting the pivotal role of the private sector in advancing the nation's space endeavors.

Conducted at the Indian Space Research Organisation's crew training facility, the intensive program caters to the needs of the astronaut-designates: Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, Group Captain Angad Pratap, and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry stated that, "The increased private sector involvement will stimulate job creation, facilitate technology transfer, and fortify India's position in the global space economy, It is anticipated that the policy reforms will incentivize companies to establish manufacturing facilities within the country, aligning with the government's 'Make In India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives"
