External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar engaged in significant discussions with his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on bolstering the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE. The meeting, held on Monday in Abu Dhabi, emphasised the deepening ties and shared perspectives on various regional and global issues.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar paid a visit to the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, emphasising its significance as a cultural bridge between India and the UAE. He described the temple as a symbol of the strong friendship shared between the two nations, radiating a positive message globally.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday to discuss a wide range of partnership issues with his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The meeting aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between India and the UAE.

The Board of Directors of the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) recently held its fourth meeting to discuss and develop key initiatives aimed at regulating and managing the UAE’s healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.

In an order, the ministry said the condition of export being allowed only through IOC will continue, but "AMI (Adnoc Marketing International (India) RSC Limited India) is exempted from STE conditions and is allowed to re-export crude oil from their commercial stockpile at Mangalore strategic petroleum reserve, at their own cost".

Despite the export ban until March 31, India allows 64,400 tonnes of onions to be shipped to the UAE and Bangladesh via NCEL, with additional exports to friendly nations, alongside subsidized sales of buffer onion stock to stabilize prices.

The temple would be open from 9 am to 8 pm on all days except Monday when it would be closed for visitors. 

Modi asserted, that “Bharat Mart has the potential to play an important role in promoting exports of the micro, small, and medium (MSME) sectors of India by providing them an effective platform to reach out to international buyers in the Gulf, West Asia, Africa, and Eurasia"

The bilateral discussions between Modi and UAE leaders covered a wide range of topics, including regional and global developments, as well as the entire spectrum of bilateral engagement.

The BIT is aimed at improving the confidence of investors, especially big investors resulting in a rise in foreign investments and overseas direct investment (ODI) opportunities. It is also likely to have a positive impact on employment generation.

The occasion was marked by a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Al Nahyan, during which several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were exchanged, further solidifying the multifaceted relationship between the two countries. .

Several initiatives and endeavours were rolled out as a component of this summit. A report on the CII India-UAE start-up initiative titled “Unlocking opportunities: India-UAE startup ecosystem convergence” was launched.
