The substantial foreign direct investment (FDI) equity inflows from Singapore into India, amounting to USD 17.2 billion in 2022-23. The cumulative FDI inflows from Singapore to India from April 2000 to December 2023 totaled USD 155.612 billion, representing 23% of the total FDI inflows into India.

Responding to a question regarding Indian officials approaching sensitive and linguistically different topics with their global counterparts, the minister said that in diplomacy, different countries bring their own cultures, traditions and sometimes their language or concepts to debate.

Jaishankar emphasized the significant strides India has made in semiconductor manufacturing, noting the arrival of machinery for semiconductor production and the impending establishment of the country's first three semiconductor plants.
