On Monday, Pakistan handed over to India a list of defence personnel who went missing during the wars of 1965 and 1971, in addition to exchanging lists of civilian prisoners and fishermen in each other's custody. This exchange took place through diplomatic channels in both New Delhi and Islamabad.

During the UNSC open debate on Children and Armed Conflict, India's Deputy Representative to the UN, R Ravindra, responding to Pakistan's comments, stated, "I categorically dismiss and condemn these baseless remarks with the contempt they deserve."

"As we have said, we support direct discussions between India and Pakistan, but the pace, scope and character should be determined by those two countries, not by us," State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated
