According to latest updates, exchange of fire between the terrorists and security forces were reported in the region on Friday, officials have said.

Security personnel, comprising the Army, Police, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), have boosted cordon and search operations in a nearly 20-square-kilometre region of the Surankote belt, with over five kilometres already searched, an official said. 

Armed with high-tech equipment including drones, night vision devices, and helped by sniffer dogs, security forces have intensified search operations in Rajouri and Poonch districts, officials said.
