The move to fit prisoners on bail with GPS-tracking anklets has sparked concerns among activists and law experts, who argue that it violates the right to privacy guaranteed under the Indian Constitution.

Speaking at an election rally in Khurda, Odisha, Singh emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, "Human rights are being violated in PoK international human rights agencies should take cognisance of the happenings in PoK."

The case stems from a petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Arif Jwadder, who contends that over 80 individuals have been killed in dubious encounters by Assam police since May 2021.

As per the report, over 60,000 people were displaced as a result of the clashes in Manipur between May and November.
