Before officially taking charge of the ministry, Shah paid tribute at the National Police Memorial in Chanakyapuri, honoring the sacrifices of policemen who died in the line of duty. Shah, aged 59, represents the Gandhinagar constituency in Gujarat in the Lok Sabha.

Upholding the Ministry’s decision in its ruling, the tribunal stated that the extensive information and evidence presented before it provided sufficient cause to designate the JKDFP as an unlawful association under the UAPA.
