The State Emergency Operation Centre said 72 roads were closed in Shimla, 31 in Mandi, nine in Kangra, eight in Kullu, four in Kinnaur, three in Sirmaur, two in Chamba and one each in Hamirpur, Una and Lahaul & Spiti districts.

Despite the challenges, there are some glimmers of hope. Around 300 people stranded near Shrikhand Mahadev in Kullu are safe, 25 tourists in Malana are being well looked after by locals, according to Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena. These small mercies offer some comfort amidst the larger tragedy.

At least 50 people are missing following a devastating cloudburst in Samej Khud, located in the Jhakri area of Rampur, Himachal Pradesh.
