The Supreme Court of India has agreed to hear a plea challenging the Bombay High Court's decision to uphold a college's ban on wearing hijab, burqa, and niqab on campus. The Supreme Court bench, including Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, acknowledged the urgency of the matter and will set a hearing date soon.

The Bombay High Court has dismissed a plea filed by women students challenging the ban on wearing hijab, niqab, burkha, stole, cap, etc., on the campus of a Mumbai college. The court's decision upheld the college's directive, which the students had contested, claiming it infringed upon their fundamental rights.

"We have not done it (rescinding the Hijab ban) yet. Someone asked me a question about lifting the Hijab ban. I replied that the government is considering revoking it," said the Chief Minister.
